Roger started the grand pirate era. WhiteBeard dominated and ended it with his death.
With his last words, Whitebeard started the New era.

Legends never dies.

Received 267 sword wounds, 152 gun wounds, shot by canon 46 times and half blown head( in the manga) and still died an awesome death.
Whitebeard is the only one whose death didn't make me sad, angry, frustrated, happy or depressed. Rather I was so full of respect.

sharmouta313 • 1 year ago

and don't forget he is old and ill too. imagine him in his prime

I liked the old man. He was just too powerful. It would have been so satisfying to see him fighting in his full power with no holds barred.
😭Sarabada Whitebeard.....You will be remembered for the ages..

Abhinav Neoharys Varma • 1 year ago

Ice Cream • 2 years ago

Yes Roger was definitely the pirate king. But you know what? The one who ruled the Grand pirate era was Whitebeard. He chose not to be the pirate king. He chose not to go to Laughtale. Not because he couldn't. But because he didn't want to!!

AnAverageAnimeFan • 2 years ago

He just wanted to have an adventure like Roger with his family, even if it isnt real

A little trivia :

It can be possible to die standing in real life. When you experience extremely strenuous activity before dying, it affects the rigor mortis and accelerates it, making the body stiffen as soon as you die.

Arifeen Mustaqim • 1 month ago

well that certainly explains

BreeZy Venerable • 2 years ago

Noooooo what Does “D” Mean

Ray Prime • 2 years ago

Well, you get more hints in the manga. My best guess is as follows...

800 years ago, basically void century, there was a clan known as the D Clan. Its people possessed destinies that could never truly die. As such, they were capable of passing on their will once they passed away so that the person best fit for it would carry it. I believe that Luffy inherited Gol D. Roger's will and that the person who inherited Ace's shows up in the episodes 600's. It's not to say that that person or Luffy don't have their own wills, but it's like an addition.

Anyway, that's my take on it.

BreeZy Venerable • 2 years ago

That actually makes a lot of sense

Cosmic • 2 years ago

ace's wills gets carried by sabo :)
